How we choose topics

We write about problems people in apartments, rentals and small rooms actually search for: storage, layout, lighting, organization and decor on a budget.

How we write guides

Guides focus on general, practical advice you can apply to your own space. We do not invent test results, ratings, prices or statistics. When something depends on your home, such as your lease, your measurements or your budget, we say so.

Products and recommendations

When a guide discusses products, we explain what to look for so you can choose for yourself. No brand pays to be included or to change what we write. If a guide contains affiliate links, it is marked at the top of the page. See our affiliate disclosure.

Photos

Room photos come from free stock libraries such as Pexels and are credited on each guide.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, please contact us. We review guides and update them when advice changes, and show the date of the last update on each guide.
